Certificate Program in Max/MSP, Jitter and Sensorbuilding. The Certificate programs have been developed in order to provide a more comprehensive training for artists interested in producing interactive media installations and performances. It requires students to take one-on-one tutorials according to an individually designed curriculum.
The Max/MSP Certificate includes basic Max/MSP programming and MIDI technologies as well as specializations in Jitter and Physical Computing / Sensor Building devices such as the Make Controller, iCube, Arduino, Miditron, etc.
Beginners should start with basic Max programming and MIDI technologies in the first level, and should choose a specialisation for a second level (e.g. Audio Processing, Sound Synthesis, Video Processing with Jitter, 3D-Rendering, Sensor Building, etc.). Each level of certificate can culminate in the presentation of a final project that uses Max/MSP, Jitter or involves physical computing or a sensor device. At the end of the semester, there can be a performance exhibition of student work.
Training costs: $1500. The student has to be a member of Harvestworks to be able to participate in this program. Membership is $75/yr. Each certificate includes 20hrs of one-on-one tutorials with our current teachers such as Matthew Ostrowski, Zachary Seldess, Dafna Naphtali, R. Luke DuBois, Jamie Allen, etc. The price also includes project supervision, unlimited labtime in our computer lab, support by our Assistant Teachers as well as a presentation of the final project at Harvestworks. A student may enroll in the program at anytime.
