Max Abeles Sound Sculpture Exhibition Oct. 10-12 |
Artist Max Abeles will be presenting seven sonically controlled light sculptures at Harvestworks this weekend, Friday-Sunday. Opening on Friday October 10 from 7 - 9 pm Saturday October 11 from 11 to 4
Sunday October 12 from 11 to 3
Max Abeles , Brooklyn based artist and former Harvestworks intern,
will be showing seven new Max/MSP driven sound sculptures at the
Harvestworks Presentation room weekend of October 10th. Using audio
controlled LED arrays embedded in organically shaped cast resin, Max
Abeles' work is hybrid; equal parts biological and synthetic. The
intersection of technology and the body being a key concept the artist
states, "rarely will our internal totes spend a lifetime untainted by
wires, waveforms or intravenous...I hope to lift the anesthesia
somewhat, allowing one to realize what music there is to be seen under
the knife."
