_______________________________ FIRST STEPS IN JAVASCRIPT FOR MAX PROGRAMMERS Brian Gruber Thursday, March 11 6:30 - 9:30pm - $110/$180 While Max' programming paradigm is easy and intuitive, programming certain algorithms can be painful. The JS object provides an easy way to write your own objects in a traditional C-like language. _______________________________ MAX FOR LIVE (M4L / ABLETON LIVE + MAX/MSP) FULL WEEK INTENSIVE Mark Triant, Dafna Naphtali, Adam Rokhsar Monday through Friday, March 15 - 19 10am to 6pm (40 hrs) - $1200 + $75 for membership Harvestworks in New York City offers a 40-hour crash course in Max for Live (M4L) - a new incarnation of Max/MSP that runs natively within Ableton Live, enabling users to design and share custom-made instruments, processors, and interfaces, with a level of integration beyond what third-party plugins are capable of. This full-week, 40-hour crash course is designed to help new M4L users dive into the construction of new devices to run within Live, including MIDI and audio processors, new instruments, and interfaces to Live's API which allow M4L patches to monitor and control application-wide behavior in real-time. _______________________________
BETTER AND FASTER PATCH BUILDING WITH MAX/MSP/JITTER Adam Kendall Thu, March 18 6:30 - 9:30pm - $110/$180 By taking this one-evening workshop, you can work faster and write easier-to-use patches by observing Max-specific techniques and general programming "best practices." _______________________________
MAX/MSP FOR INDIE ROCK Adam Rokhsar Sunday, March 21 noon - 6pm $220/$280 This course will teach you how to use Max/MSP to redefine the "indie sound" with advanced tricks and techniques for the recording studio and the stage. You will also learn how to use Jitter and Max for Live to create real-time, strongly timed visuals that interact directly with the music.
_______________________________ JITTER AS PERFORMANCE INSTRUMENT Adam Kendall Thursday, March 25 6:30 - 9:30pm - $110/$180 This is a hands-on workshop to discuss and program real-time control of video-parameters via MIDI note and CC information, ADSR evevlopes, and LFOs. _______________________________ MUSIC VIDEOS & VJING IN MAX 4 LIVE Adam Rokhsar Saturday, March 27 12 noon to 6pm - $220/$280 This workshop will provide a detailed tour of the power of Max 4 Live when placed in the hands of visual artists and audio-visualists. _______________________________ MAKING FORMS FROM TIME: STRUCTURING DIGITAL ART IN MAX/MSP Adam Rokhsar Sunday, March 28 10am to 4pm - $220/$280 This workshop will introduce a brand-new toolbox for Max called The Timestruct Toolkit, which allows artists to make high-level decisions for both real-time and recorded pieces. _______________________________ MAX POTPOURRI: Zachary Seldess Sunday, March 28 5 - 8pm - $110/$170 This hands-on three hour workshop will introduce a variety of useful Max concepts, chosen particularly to assist intermediate Maxers in their pursuit of increased patching fluency, complexity, and creativity. |
