JunXion (http://www.steim.org/junxion) is one of the most powerful, easy to use, upwardly complex HID translator software tools for the MacIntosh. USB sensor boards & peripherals, Bluetooth-Wii's, serial Arduino, OSC, MIDI, Audio and Video inputs all get wired into your favorite musical and multimedia application inside or outside your computer. Learn more about mapping, data scaling, intricate conditionals and how to develop a powerful, personal performance setup around your very own gizmos of choice.

The workshop will be presented by Frank Baldé, the creator of junXion. Frank Baldé is the software designer/developer at STEIM, Amsterdam. A big influence on his work has been the close collaboration with former STEIM director Michel Waisvisz, which resulted in a number of music applications for live performance: the Lick Machine, LiSa and junXion. The last couple of years he has done major development work on junXion. The software combo junXion/LiSa is also used in most of STEIM's MobileTouch exhibition instruments. Together with Michel he has created a number of interactive music installations that can be played by anybody from 7 to 77 years of age. This exhibition has traveled to a various places around the world and always been very succesful. Mobile Touch is also part of STEIM's showcase at the Japan Society on May 7 & 8.

After this workshop, there will be a discussion at Electronic Music Foundation's new center with Frank Baldé, Takuro Mizita Lippit, Joel Chadabe and Ben Neill about "Looking back at the evolution of realtime musical system."
