| Dear Harvestworks Community, In November 2025, I will be transitioning out of the Executive Director position (retiring after 37 years of service!) and moving on to the Board of Directors and special projects at the organization. I’m pleased to announce that Ivana Dama will step into the role of Interim Director. We have worked together over the past year to make a smooth transition. In 2001, I was recognized as one of 100 Technology Leaders who would shape NYC. Digital art was emerging and Harvestworks was noted for being ahead of the times. The world has caught up to digital art, but Harvestworks is still ahead of the times and planning for the future. Looking back, it’s been a pleasure and an honor to help Harvestworks grow into an international arts organization that has inspired and supported over 14,000 artists. It would not have been possible without the initial support of the founders, Greg Kramer and Gerald Lindahl, our current and past Board of Directors, our amazing list of funders and supporters, and an amazing staff and community of artists – I could name a hundred or more! The New York City community of artists is like no other in the world! Our programs and existing commitments to artists will continue under the leadership of Interim Director Ivana Dama. Ivana has been an artist in residence, a Technology Immersion instructor, and a presenter in the Art and Technology Program on Governors Island. She is a sound artist and researcher who recently received an MFA from Yale and an undergraduate degree from UCLA’s School of the Arts and Architecture in Design and Media Arts department. The search for Harvestworks Executive Director will be announced to the public in January 2026. For projects, I will be working with the original TELLUS the Audio Cassette Magazine editors and Earth Libraries to release a comprehensive series of LP’s starting with TELLUS Anthology #1 in 2026. The Harvestworks Archive is also special to me and connects many artists and their works to Harvestworks. Thank you all for your support over the years and for the joy and inspiration this community has brought and will continue to bring to me! Sincerely, Carol Parkinson |
