[July 18] PERFORMANCE, 2026: Koekko by 小宮知久Chiku Komiya

Harvestworks is pleased to present a new performance by artist 小宮知久  Chiku Komiya, featuring the KOE Language Songs Project.

📅 Date: Saturday, July 18, 2026
🕓 Time: 2 PM
📍 Governors Island, Nolan Park, Harvestworks Building 10a

The project explores the creation of a synthetic language situated between Japanese and Finnish, developed through phonetic and grammatical similarities shared by both languages. Through this ongoing research, the artist investigates how a newly invented language can generate new forms of singing, vocal expression, and sonic communication.

Combining language creation, sound art, and experimental music, the performance offers a unique exploration of voice, meaning, and musicality through an imagined linguistic system.
