[Oct 23] The 2023 Technology Immersion Program (TIP)- Application Deadline Dec. 8, 2022

The 2023 Technology Immersion Program (TIP) is a national program that offers American artists and legal US residents a 6 month professional development program for technical training in the creation of technology-based artworks and networking, performance and exhibition opportunities.

Applicants will receive extensive training with our expert instructors and participate in our workspace residency program including practice time in our lab, additional workshops and networking meetings with others in the program, our artists in residence, engineers, technical affiliates and interns. They will receive $2000 for attending the master classes with an additional budget for independent study and practice in the lab.

The TIP Program will award up to 4 full scholarships to media artists at any stage in their career who have a passion for learning the tools of digital media but do not have the research, training and equipment necessary to produce artworks in this medium. Women, BIPOC and Trans artists are encouraged to apply. The applicant must provide their own housing costs but some travel stipends may be available.

Program starts in December 2022 and ends May, 2023. Using the core principals of inclusion, diversity, equity and access, applicants will be chosen based on economic need, prior creative engagement with technology and the potential for career advancement in the Tech Arts. Applicants should be prepared to spend a minimum of 20 hours per month in the program. The program’s focus is on the following major areas: Code-based sound, performance and visual arts including Machine Learning, AI, A/R and V/R and Spatial and 3D Audio, including analog audio and video synthesis.
